Gozo
Mġarr is Gozo’s harbour and its only marina. If you keep a boat here and can’t check on it often, a fitted cover means it stays clean and protected between visits — through summer sun and winter gales.

Mġarr Harbour is where the Gozo ferry comes in, and the island’s marina sits on its northern side — a set of floating pontoons with around 200 berths, run by the same operator as Manoel Island Marina. It’s quieter and calmer than the Malta marinas most of the year, and it’s where a lot of Gozitan owners and holiday-home owners keep their boats.
Gozo’s weather has its own character. The channel between Gozo and Comino funnels and accelerates the wind, and passing winter gales can make the marina uncomfortable enough that owners are advised to have someone local keep an eye on an unattended boat. A boat that is only visited every few weeks also gets the full summer sun and dust in between. A fitted cover deals with all of that without needing anyone to be there.

The usual problems
A full cover keeps sun, dust and salt off between visits, with a zipped door so you can get aboard without taking it off.
A cover shrunk tight to a frame and banded to the boat has nothing for the wind to grab — it moves with the boat rather than tearing away from it.
We do. The crossing is built into the quote, so a Mġarr berth costs no more to arrange than a Malta one.
The approach
We come over on the ferry with everything we need, so one trip does the job. If you can send photos and the boat’s length first, we can quote before we cross — and if other owners at the marina want covers, we’ll do them on the same visit.
Covers in Mġarr are framed and banded with the winter gales in mind, and vented for the summer heat. If you’re abroad, we can photograph the boat before and after and send you the pictures, so you know it’s done.
Before we quote
For Mġarr we can usually survey from your photos, and confirm on the day we cross. We measure the vessel, work out the frame, the film area, the vents and the doors — and the number you get back is the number you pay. No provisional sums, no “subject to access”.

Not every Mġarr, Gozo job needs a visit to get going. Send a couple of photos and tell us your pontoon at Mġarr Marina and when you’re next over, and an installer will tell you what’s involved — including when shrink wrap isn’t the right call.

Finished covers
Tight, smooth, framed clear of the boat and welded into one skin. This is the standard every Mġarr, Gozo cover is fitted to.

Questions from Mġarr, Gozo
Yes — at Mġarr Marina and ashore around the island. We bring everything over on the ferry and the crossing is built into the price.
Usually, yes. Photos and the boat’s length are enough for a quick idea, and we confirm the fixed price on the day before we start.
A properly fitted cover is tight to its frame and banded to the boat, so it doesn’t catch the wind. It won’t stop the boat moving on her lines, but the cover itself will stay put.
Yes. We photograph the boat before and after and send you the pictures.
Send a photo, the length and where she is. You’ll get a straight answer on the approach, and a fixed price after the survey.
